purokishi.i2p

purokishi.i2p is a high-performance, multi-homed proxy service with extensive blocking of advertising domains, pornography, and other undesirable hosts. Currently over 5 million hostnames are blocked. Bandwidth is generously provided by Incognet Hosting.

It supports .onion services, and will automatically (re)compress images on any site visited over http:// including .onion sites to reduce page load times.

Logging of clearnet requests is limited to 24 hours in order to monitor any false positives that may arise from the many blocklists in use, and is limited to the DNS request only (i.e. the hostname) via the blocklist-enabled local DNS server. Requests are not correlated with b32 destinations. No other logs are retained.

Purokishi uses the filtered Quad9 DNS service to perform remote lookups using the DNSSEC protocol extension.

In an attempt to avoid the outproxy ip addresses being blacklisted by censors in countries where the use of proxies may be prohibited or discouraged, web requests for several countries are automatically proxied over Tor.

If you installed I2P+ via the java installer, purokishi is already configured as your default outproxy.

If you upgraded from a default I2P install to I2P+ or you are running default I2P, you will need to configure the I2P HTTP Proxy tunnel via the Tunnel Manager (aka Hidden Services Manager) to use purokishi.i2p in both the Outproxies and SSL Outproxies sections (replace false.i2p).

If using i2pd, replace http://false.i2p in your i2pd.conf file with http://purokishi.i2p and enable if necessary.

Note: Do NOT specify outproxy.purokishi.i2p as the outproxy; this is the landing page for the outproxy which is purokishi.i2p. You must have the purokishi.i2p address in your addressbook to use the service as indicated above. Use the address helper link for purokishi.i2p to add the host to your addressbook.
